History of Bingham Park

Designed in 1915, Bingham Park was originally called Clifton Park in reference to its topography. In 1937, the park was renamed to Bingham in honor of Robert Worth Bingham, a prominent local lawyer and former owner of Courier-Journal.

Master Plan

The Bingham Park master plan was done in 2020 by Louisville Parks and Recreation and Olmsted Parks Conservancy. The plan focused on developing ideas that would improve equity, accessibility and sustainability.
