Connecting Nature and Neighborhood

The Olmsted Park System strengthens communities, makes our neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work, and raises property values.

But it takes constant work to maintain the quality of these parks to ensure they meet the needs of those who use them most. Our parks are threatened by invasive plants, city budget cuts, and reduction in tree canopies. Park users are starved for programming and amenities. And so, our job is never done.

Support Beargrass Preserve at Cherokee Park

200 years after Frederick Law Olmsted’s birth, Olmsted Parks Conservancy kicks off the first expansion of his Louisville park system – one of only four such systems in the world.
