The Future of Stansbury Park

Back to News & Updates

Recent public meetings have sparked a lot of conversation about the future of Stansbury Park.

This historic public park was set aside for the city of Louisville as the lynchpin of the Olmsted Park System. The park, which is located at 2302 South 3rd Street, is in proximity to several neighborhoods, including Park Hill, Limerick, Southside, Wilder Park, Algonquin, Taylor Berry, Wyandotte/Oakdale, Old Louisville and Saint Joseph.

At the last meeting, we advocated for better pedestrian and bike accessibility to the park and larger campus, to better serve their students and the surrounding communities. We also believe this public park should remain as such, and include amenities which serve the nearby community, including the university’s students.

To learn more about the project, please visit https://louisville.edu/communityengagement/community/stansburypark. The community is also encouraged to fill out a brief survey available online here: Stansbury Online Survey.
