Join the us and the whole city April 15-22, 2012 for the Mayor’s Week of Service. Volunteer with us in Cherokee, Shawnee or Seneca Parks and help the city set a world’s record for volunteering and public service – with at least 55,000 volunteers and acts of kindness in motion that week.
Mayor Fischer announced the week of service and made this statement: “You may recall that I spoke about three major goals during my inaugural address – lifelong learning and great jobs, wellness and compassion. Give A Day is one of the platforms to bring the compassion theme to life – to make Louisville an even more compassionate city. We may not have all of the money we’d like to have, especially during the prolonged recession, but we can always use our time, energy and talents to help others.”
Olmsted Parks Conservancy is commited to helping our city reached the 55,000 volunteers. Find out how you can help in our beautiful Frederick Law Olmsted Parks: Go to our Events Page and sign up to volunteer.
