Thursday, May 19, we hosted our first “Power of Olmsted Parks” breakfast. We were joined by more than 300 people interested how they can support the future of the Frederick Law Olmsted Parks.
The breakfast event started with a welcome from Mayor Greg Fisher followed by an impactful video about Frederick Law Olmsted and the parks he designed in Louisville. Gill Holland, Trustee member and Matt Spalding, Biological Technician both spoke about the importance of the support and how your dollars help the Frederick Law Olmsted Parks flourish. Annie Bush, park user, talked about her love for the parks and showed her video she did for her class at Bloom Elementary.
Frederick Law Olmsted created landscape experiences, to have a humanizing effect on the citizens: to soften their harsh life, and to bring people of all classes together to interact and gain a sense of community. Let us continue to keep the Frederick Law Olmsted Parks healthy so future generation experience what Olmsted designed. Thanks for all the support from our trustees, donors and sponsors.
