Hogan’s Fountain Restoration

Support the restoration of Hogan’s Fountain!

Restoration continues on Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park and is expected to be complete by mid-April. The asphalt around the fountain will be replaced with cobblestones, and the area will be upgraded with new seating and landscaping.

Restoration for Hogan Fountain includes:

• Remove all the asphalt surrounding the fountain and replace with granite cobble stones, the original surface material.

• Build a connector trail to the natural surface trail system.

• Install sitting stones around the fountain.

• Reduce the driving lane for vehicular traffic to 10’ for traffic calming.

• Install a planted median to separate the scenic loop lane from the driving lane.

• Install plantings to enhance and restore green space around the fountain and add traffic bollards for safety.

• Add a crosswalk from the fountain to the playground and McCall Shelter.

Iroquois Park was nicknamed “Louisville’s Yellowstone” because of its mature forest that blankets the hillsides.
