Because Frederick Law Olmsted is widely celebrated as being one of the greatest – if not the greatest – landscape architects, one may assume that designing beautiful parks was the only thing that man did. In actuality, he did so much more – including sailing to China as a simple yeoman, publishing several books, organizing the system that would become the American Red Cross, and managing a gold mine in California. Join us as Denise places all those roles into context, while also showing how they shaped his philosophy and design work.
