Planting at Tyler Park in memorium of Sandy Hook Students and Teachers

Back to News & Updates

It was a great way to honor those lost at Sandy Hook Elementary. It was 10-year old Henry Helmers’ idea. Tyler Park Neighborhood Association pushed it forward with great coordination and funding and with the help of Louisville Metro Parks and Olmsted Parks Conservancy the idea happened today. 26 trees were planted, messages from a children from a variety of schools were written and left with each tree. And Henry Helmers was honored for his idea by the Mayor! Take a walk in Tyler Park and check it out.
