Fred's Facts

Iroquois Park was nicknamed “Louisville’s Yellowstone”. Frederick Law Olmsted’s design took advantage of the rugged terrain and the drama of the mature woodlands and scenic overlooks. At the heart of the park is a 10,000-year-old forest that blankets the knob’s steep hillsides with a great variety of rare plants and animals.

Join Olmsted Parks Conservancy, Old Louisville Neighborhood Council and Councilman David James for a Spring clean-up event in Central Park on Saturday, April 8 9:00am-12:00pm. Individuals and groups welcome! Volunteers gather at the Old Louisville Information Center. Tasks will include planting, weeding, mulching, painting and general park beautification projects. Gloves, hand tools and refreshments will be provided but please feel free to bring your own, and be sure to dress for the weather and getting dirty!
