LG&E and KU’s Plant for the Planet Grant

Back to News & Updates

Olmsted Parks Conservancy is please again to be planting trees in Seneca Park because of a grant from LG&E and KU’s Plant for the Planet program. Because of their committment to our community and with matching gifts from the Conservancy donors have provided, we have planted $40,000 worth of trees over the last four years!

This year we will plant along a 1500 foot stretch of parkland adjacent to I-64 and hole #3 on the Seneca Golf Course. 75 canopy trees such as yellowwood, tulip, white and red oak, and black gum will fill this area after our crew and hard-working volunteers cleared bush honeysuckle earlier this year from the area.

Are you planting trees in your yard? Please read this valueable information before you plant: Right Tree, Right Place .
