Extraordinary Volunteers Recognized

1413 individuals and 59 groups volunteered (a total of 6975 hours) in 2013 to keep the Olmsted Parks healthy and beautiful. We are grateful for the generous spirit of each of you who gave your time, talent and energy to your treasured parks. Below are listed some special individuals and groups who went above and beyond last year in their commitment to the Olmsted Parks. Thank you to everyone who served!

Janet Dakan: Office Volunteer Extraordinaire
If staff need help with a big or small job, Janet, who volunteered 240 hours, will help!

Scott Choffel: Outstanding Park Steward
Scott volunteered over 140 hours planting trees and removing invasive plants.

Nathan Slaven: New Park Champion Volunteer
A new volunteer, this high school student saved the lives of many trees during the numerous volunteer sessions he attended!

St Francis High School: Most Awesome School Group
For a second year in a row these students led the way in the Olmsted Park.

Bingham Park Neighbors: Friendly Neighbors of the Year
This motivated group continues to enthusiastically support Bingham Park.

KYMBA: Best User Group
KYMBA is passionate about caring for the trails they use in Cherokee and Seneca Parks.

Kentucky Center for the Arts and Brown-Forman: Outstanding Local Business/Organization
Making a great team, over 40 volunteers from these two organizations donated 240 hours improving Elliott Park
