Twilight Trail Tour
Ever wonder what Cherokee Park is like after dark? Experience the sights and sounds of twilight in this beloved Olmsted Park!
Join Education and Volunteer Program Manager Matt Spalding on a family-friendly walk on flat, natural trails through the woods in the Bonnycastle Hill area of the park. We’ll watch for fireflies and other bugs, listen for nocturnal wildlife (maybe we’ll even hear one of the owls that calls the park home!), and end the evening with complimentary s’mores.
Registration is Required.
Tickets are FREE for Olmsted Parks Conservancy members (up to 2 free tickets per member household) and $8 for non-members (children under 13 may accompany a ticket-holding adult for free but must be registered in advance).
Tour is rain or shine but may be postponed in the case of severe inclement weather or unsafe park conditions. Weather-appropriate clothes and footwear with good tread are encouraged. Glow sticks and flashlights will be provided for safety.
We’ll meet by 8:30pm at the new Stegner Pavilion (just across the field from the “Teepee”). Parking is readily available in the nearby parking lot and along the Scenic Loop. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a prompt start. This is an approximately 1-mile walk along both paved paths and natural trails, with slight uphill and downhill slopes.
