180 Trees for Iroquois Park

LG&E provided a $5,000 grant to plant 180 trees in Iroquois Park through its Plant for the Planet program. This grant helped Olmsted Parks Conservancy replant some of the trees lost in Iroquois Park during the wind and ice storms of 2008 and 2009. The grant greatly supports Iroquois Park not just financially but environmentally. Replanting lost trees reduces the growth of invasive plants that can extensively damage a woodland area. Our Parks crew planted 13 varieties of trees.

Learn what trees you should plant this fall by following LGE&E’s Right Tree, Right Place program.
